Skin Tag, Wart & Milia Removal: Initial Consultation
We understand that skin tags can be an unsightly and problematic issue and here at The Karma Clinic in Aylesbury we can remove skin tags as well as warts and milia. Skin Tag removal is very straightforward and right from the start you will be in the hands of qualified professionals who will explain everything you need to know and put you at your ease. The method used for skin tag removal is so quick and easy, it can be carried out in your lunch break.
Skin Tag, Wart & Milia removal, what is the procedure?
Our expert team will use the heat in order to cauterise the skin tag’s neck. This is done by applying a current of heat to the base of the tag and slicing through it, cauterising the area as it does so. In addition to skin tags, this method is also ideal for milia removal – the small white spots which occur when oil becomes trapped under the skin. There are also other methods for milia removal and when you come in for your initial consultation our team will discuss these with you.
We are able to treat warts, including for minors from the age of 14 years upwards, using a combination of Cryotherapy and Thermocoagulation. Together these treatments can rid any unsightly and painful warts, often ones that have been there for many years.
One of the best things about skin tag, milia and wart removal is how quickly we are able to carry out the treatment. Appointments last on average for 15-30 minutes and this includes the time for a consultation, so it really is something that you can simply slot into your working day if you want to. Some people have a number of skin tags that they would like removed and, if this is the case, it is a good idea to discuss this you’re your practitioner who will be carrying out your treatment. Occasionally it is better to have separate treatments.
While these are not painful procedures, some people may find it a little uncomfortable; although this depends on exactly where the skin tags, milia or warts are being removed from. If you have any concerns about this aspect of the treatment at all, then our staff will be happy to talk you through it and put your mind at rest before treatment begins.
What happens after the treatment?
For our experienced team of professionals, aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself. We want to help you to restore your confidence, so we will advise you how to care for your skin after your treatment. Following our advice will mean that you maximise the results that you see.
It is important that the affected area is properly protected following treatment. This means that you should avoid getting it wet for at least 24 hours and avoid wearing tight clothing over the affected area.
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice that the skin feels a little hot and depending on the treatment area it may feel sore. This is perfectly normal, but if you have any concerns our team are on hand to answer any questions that you have. We understand that having skin tags removed may sound a little daunting but the procedure is very straightforward and for many people it has made a real difference to their quality of life.
If you have lost confidence due to the appearance of skin tags then it is worth coming for a chat with us to discuss your options. A number of our clients combine the removal of skin tags with other options such as anti-ageing treatments to really give their confidence a boost. Our team will be happy to talk through your requirements at the time of the skin tag consultation.
